New vaccination hubs for Ipswich and Gold Coast

Ipswich and Gold Coast residents will have greater access to the COVID-19 vaccine from next week with the opening of two new community-based vaccination centres.

Health Minister Yvette D’Ath said the new centres were in response to growing demand for vaccinations from Ipswich and Gold Coast residents.

The new centres will be located at:

  • Ipswich - the former Harvey Norman showroom, accessible via the Nicholas Street Mall (opens Tuesday 20 July 2021).
  • Gold Coast - adjacent to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on the Gold Coast Highway in Broadbeach (opens Monday 26 July 2021).

“As more Queenslanders come forward for vaccination, the Palaszczuk Government is continuing to grow its network of COVID-19 vaccination hubs,” she said.

“We’re pleased to be able to provide this service to the Ipswich and Gold Coast communities to enhance their access to the free COVID-19 vaccine.

“Subject to supply from the Commonwealth, we’re continuing to roll out community-based vaccination locations across Queensland.

“Queensland Health has administered more than 740,000 vaccinations to date as more Queenslanders come forward to protect themselves and their loved ones.

“Thank you to all those Queenslanders who have come forward to get vaccinated so far – vaccination is our best chance of beating this pandemic.”

The Ipswich vaccination centre will operate Monday to Saturday, with the Gold Coast centre to operate seven days a week.
