Have your say on the future Ipswich healthcare facility in Ripley

Artist impression - South Ripley The Ipswich healthcare facility at Barrams Road, Ripley, will provide outpatient services closer to home for residents of surrounding suburbs.

The Ripley facility complements other projects at West Moreton Health that are designed to respond to rapid population growth in the region.

The detailed mix of services that will be offered at the Ipswich healthcare facility is still being developed but will include the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, and outpatient services.

This will help to free up capacity at emergency departments.

The Ripley facility allows the health service to provide healthcare services closer to home and in a more appropriate setting. There are no overnight beds as part of this facility.

The new facility is planned to open in mid-2023, and free onsite parking will be available.

This site is part of the Ripley Priority Developmentsite view of Ripley Area and was already earmarked as a health precinct for the Ripley community, meaning that many of the impacts to the road network, schools, and traffic have already been considered.

We are encouraging residents to have their say about the new facility, through the public consultation process that is open until Friday, 8 October. You can make a formal submission online, by email or by phone.

A frequently asked questions page has also been set up online to help residents understand the project and the construction process.

The Ipswich healthcare facility at Ripley is part of the Satellite Hospitals Program, a $265 million Queensland Government commitment to deliver seven new facilities to support public healthcare in rapidly growing communities in South East Queensland.

Each site will undergo a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation (MID) process to ensure the projects meets all necessary planning requirements to enable development to occur.
