Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS)

Service information

Our Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) specialises in helping infants, children and adolescents up to the age of 18 who have complex mental health needs. We focus on recovery and work collaboratively with young people and their families. CYMHS works as a multidisciplinary team and do not see young people purely for medication management or psychiatric review. Our intake team is the first point of contact and works with families and referrers to determine the most appropriate services for the young people referred to us and will make referrals to other services if indicated.

Eligibility

Children and young people aged 0 to 17 years who have or are at risk of developing severe and complex mental health issues.

Referral pathway

Written or typed referrals accepted from GPs, guidance officers, youth workers or paediatricians.
