There are three main options for staff, patients and visitors accessing Ipswich Hospital:

Free parking

Ipswich Hospital provides a free 'Park & Ride' service for staff, patient and visitors.

Staff, patients and visitors can park for FREE at:

  • Limestone Park
  • Deebing Street (water tower)

Ipswich Hospital Park & Ride operates Monday – Friday from 6.20am to 11.15pm (excluding Queensland public holidays).

Concessional parking

As of Sunday 1 October 2017, West Moreton Hospital and Health Service has introduced new concessional parking arrangements for eligible patients, carers and their families attending Ipswich Hospital. These concessions make affordable parking more available for those people who need it the most.

If you are eligible for concessional parking you can get a Car Parking Concessional form from the Volunteers Desk, at the Main Entry (Ward Block Entry), Chelmsford Avenue or the secondary entry (Tower Block Entry), East Street, or via this link.

Paid parking

Ipswich Hospital Foundation operates three car parks under agreements with West Moreton:

  • P1 – A covered, multi-story car park located opposite the main entrance of Ipswich Hospital, on Chelmsford Avenue
  • P2 – A covered, multi-story car park located opposite the main entrance of Ipswich Hospital, on Chelmsford Avenue
  • Ipswich Health Plaza, located on Bell Street in the same structure as the Ipswich Station

Casual parking rates are $3.00 per hour or part thereof for a $21 a day maximum.

These car parks have allocated disabled parking.

Ipswich City Council provides limited 'Pay and Display' on-street parking around Ipswich Hospital. On-street parking fees are set at $1.20 per hour.

As a patient at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service there are some important things you need to know about your travel from hospital.

Public transport

For assistance in planning public transportation, visit or call on 13 12 30 anytime.

There is a taxi phone and CODI phone at the Chelmsford Avenue main entrance on level 6.

Other patient transport options – If you require assistance with transport home please discuss this with your nurse.

Assistance with travel

The Queensland Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme provides financial assistance for travel and accommodation to eligible patients and in some cases their escorts, who need to access specialist services that are not available within their local area.
