Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme

If you live in a rural and remote area and have to travel more than 50 km to your local public hospital, you may be eligible for the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme.

The scheme helps with travel and accommodation costs if you need to use specialist medical services that aren't available in your local area.

Find out more about the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme and see if you're eligible, on the Queensland Government website.

Ipswich Hospital is expanding

We’re making our hospital bigger and better to provide more care, closer to home, for our growing community.

The Ipswich Hospital Expansion will deliver 200 new overnight beds, a new emergency department, operating theatres, a multi-storey car park, and an expanded coronary care unit in 2028.
