West Moreton Health is inviting jobseekers, students, graduates and career-changers to explore opportunities at its something-for-everyone jobs expo next month (10 September).
As the West Moreton region grows, so does the need for motivated people to join the hospital and health service in flexible, meaningful roles that make a difference.
West Moreton Health is part of Queensland Health’s vast network of public hospital and health services.
More than 6000 people work for West Moreton Health in roles ranging from kitchen staff, wardies, cleaners and gardeners to allied health professionals, pharmacists, nurses, doctors and researchers. Over the next three years, the health service will hire thousands more staff to keep up with its growth.
West Moreton Health Chief Executive Hannah Bloch said the expo offers an unmatched opportunity for jobseekers to connect directly with staff and learn more about the variety of roles available.
“Whether your strength lies in clinical care, support services, administration or on-the-ground roles, we have a place for you in our health service,” Ms Bloch said.
“If you’re passionate about helping people, we want to meet you at our expo.”
The expo will showcase a wide range of employment opportunities including permanent, part-time, short-term and casual positions to suit different skills, lifestyles and career stages.
Roles are available across hospitals, clinics and community sites throughout Ipswich, Ripley, Laidley, Gatton, Esk, Boonah and Wacol.
“Our employees tell us that they stay for the people, the purpose and the opportunities,” Ms Bloch said.
“This jobs expo is your chance to meet the teams behind the service and find out how you can help shape health care in a thriving region.”
Many positions support patient care without providing direct treatment, including administration, planning, IT, infrastructure, catering, maintenance, research and finance.
Jobseekers are encouraged to come ready to connect, ask questions, and explore roles tailored to their strengths and experience.
