West Moreton Health has unveiled a significantly expanded dental clinic at Silkstone, marking a new era in free, accessible oral care for the region.
The new Silkstone Dental Clinic now includes six treatment spaces for eligible children and adults.
West Moreton Health’s team of oral experts are welcoming patients to the clinic from 16 June 2025.
Executive Director Preventative and Prison Health Services, Dr Kelly McGowan, said it replaces a smaller clinic that was previously limited to school students.
“We look forward to being able to provide more free dental care to children and eligible adults at the new clinic,” Dr McGowan said.
“Good oral health is critical to general health and wellbeing for all of us.
“Our team love teaching people about good dental habits. That includes brushing and flossing and learning how to protect our teeth from decay with good eating and drinking habits.”
West Moreton Health Chief Executive Hannah Bloch said the new facility was the next chapter of oral health services for the region.
“We have a long history of providing free dental care to students here at Silkstone State School,” Ms Bloch said.
“With the expansion of the clinic, the Silkstone Dental Clinic is open to eligible children and adults.
“The new clinic will ensure West Moreton Health can continue to provide high quality oral health services for our growing region.”
The Silkstone Dental Clinic replaces a smaller two-chair clinic built in the 1970s where school students received free dental care from a mobile dental van.
