Hannah Bloch

Hannah Bloch is an accomplished healthcare executive with more than 15 years of experience in the Queensland public system. She has a deep understanding of healthcare operations and experience in managing large and complex services.
Hannah has previously held executive roles at Gold Coast Health where she served on their executive for 6 years.
She has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (Human Resources Management) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Dr Nicola Murdock

Dr Nicola Murdock is an experienced healthcare practitioner and leader. She has held chief medical officer roles in the United Kingdom and Australia, in Cairns, Gladstone and Brisbane.
Nicola is trained in general practice and paediatrics and moved into medical administration in 2010.
She is a past president of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Paediatrics and Child Health Division, and former Chair of the Queensland Child Death Review Board.
In 2017, she won the Telstra Queensland Business Women’s Award in the category of public sector and academia.
Chief Finance Officer
Carmen McDonald

Carmen McDonald is a certified practising accountant with qualifications in business (professional accounting) and a master’s in health administration. She has worked in diverse finance roles across construction, defence and health over more than 20 years.
Carmen has worked in public and private health organisations for the past 10 years in roles spanning finance, performance management and operations. Most recently, Carmen was senior director, service agreement management, in the Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance division within the Queensland Department of Health and has been involved in the commissioning and funding of public health services across the state.
Chief Operating Officer
Dr Jeremy Wellwood

Dr Jeremy Wellwood is responsible for clinical planning and performance across three divisions: Family, Surgery, and Diagnostic Imaging; Medicine and Ambulatory Services; Allied Health and Oral Health.
Jeremy has decades of experience in healthcare delivery, including executive leadership roles at Gold Coast, Cairns and Hinterland, and Metro South Health. Before joining West Moreton Health in 2025, Dr Wellwood was Executive Director Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Jeremy has a clinical and laboratory background in haematology and has completed a Master of Health Leadership and Management as well as a fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. His passion for developing and evolving clinical services grew when he led the development of tertiary cancer care for the Gold Coast.
He embraces values-based leadership, bringing together his clinical and management experience to support and develop the systems and teams empowered to deliver great patient care for our community.
Executive Director Family, Surgery and First Nations Health Services
Joanne Johnson

Joanne has more than 35 years’ experience in healthcare at West Moreton Health and Metro North Health.
Jo has extensive clinical knowledge of patient care, performance and leadership. She works with all areas of the health service to support service redesign and changes to models of care.
She has a Master of Health Science (Health Service Management) and graduate certificates in clinical redesign, health science and emergency nursing.
Executive Director Medicine and Ambulatory Services
Nicola Ross

Nicola Ross is an experienced service director with strong experience in patient flow, leadership and clinical redesign.
After seven years working in leadership positions at Metro South Health, including at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Nicola returned to West Moreton Health in 2026. She previously worked at West Moreton Health for 10 years after migrating from the United Kingdom.
Nikki holds a Master of Emergency Nursing.
Executive Director Allied Health and Oral Health
Philip Juffs

Philip Juffs is an advanced accredited practising dietitian with more than 20 years’ experience in clinical dietetics and food service management.
He's worked as a clinical dietitian in renal nutrition in a wide range of tertiary, rural and remote settings and has held roles at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital, and several National Health Service hospitals in the United Kingdom.
Philip is a former president of the Dietitians Association of Australia. He also represents allied health professionals on the Queensland Clinical Senate.
Executive Director Mental Health, Addictions, Custodial Health and Statewide Services
Dr Luke Butcher

Dr Luke Butcher has spent the past 15 years leading innovative and award-winning health, hospital and human services, including at tertiary public hospitals and mental health drug and alcohol and offender rehabilitation services at executive levels in both government and non-government organisations. He brings expertise in regional, rural and remote service design and provision, having spent his career living and working in regional, rural and remote Australia.
Luke has undergraduate qualifications in psychology, postgraduate training in clinical supervision, a Master of Forensic Mental Health and a PhD from James Cook University. Luke is Adjunct Professor Faculty of Health at Charles Darwin University. He has published works on integrating peer support into mainstream mental health services, forensic risk assessment, and youth justice.
Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery
Karyn Ehren

Karyn Ehren has worked in healthcare for 38 years and has a background in senior leadership. She's held roles at Children’s Health Queensland, including Director of Nursing Workforce Sustainability at the Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, and nursing director surgery and perioperative services.
Her clinical background is in paediatric intensive care where she's worked as an educator and nurse unit manager.
Karyn has a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in leadership and health service management. She also has graduate qualifications in paediatrics and intensive care nursing. Her interests include nursing and midwifery leadership and workforce management.

Claire Barratt

Claire Barratt oversees a $1+ billion major capital infrastructure program and essential facility services for safe and sustainable healthcare delivery.
She is an executive leader with more than 20 years' experience across health, banking, retail and pharmacy sectors. Previously Claire was general counsel and corporate secretary and chief strategy officer at West Moreton Health, advising the board and chief executive on governance, risk, compliance and complex commercial matters.
She has a Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws, Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance.
Acting Executive Director Clinical Innovation and Digital Services
Therese Hayes

Therese Hayes is Acting Executive Director Clinical Innovation and Digital Services.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Therese has led the delivery of initiatives that drive quality care, process optimisation, and service innovation, this work undertaken in Therese’s roles leading strategy, planning and improvement.
Therese is a registered nurse, registered midwife and a child health nurse, her clinical speciality being paediatric emergency medicine.
Acting Executive Director People and Corporate Governance
Sarah Dixon

Sarah Dixon is an executive leader with experience across a wide variety of industries, including health. She was a member of Gold Coast Health’s executive team for seven years, leading both operational health delivery and corporate services divisions.
During a 15-year consulting career in the private sector she gained strategy, governance and corporate communication experience. She is an experienced non-executive director, having previously served as chair of an independent school and as a trustee of a public offer superannuation fund. She is currently Deputy Chair of a charitable trust.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Business, Communication and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is also a Justice of the Peace.
Director Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
Maurice Woodley

Maurice has more than 15 years’ experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in regions and communities.
At West Moreton Health, Maurice has been an Indigenous health liaison officer, cultural practice program coordinator and principal project officer for the First Nations Health Equity Strategy.
Maurice has also worked for Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN and Brisbane South PHN in program management, program support, outreach and engagement roles.
Maurice is an Anathanguyth/Yinwum man. He is a passionate advocate for systemic change to create better health for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Maurice is also an accomplished artist, whose work is used extensively across the health service in publications and the fixed environment.
