Works have begun on an upgrade of the Esk Hospital helipad to ensure it remains safe and reliable for local patients needing urgent access to healthcare.
Scheduled for completion in November 2026, the works will improve the existing helipad to support critical-care helicopters in the Queensland Health fleet.
West Moreton Health Major Capital Program Director Mitchell Petersen said the works may result in increased heavy vehicle traffic in the area and some noise during approved working hours.
“This is an important project that ensures local residents can continue to receive the best possible care,” Mr Petersen said.
“We understand construction activity can be disruptive and will make every effort to minimise impacts on our neighbours.
“We thank the Esk community for their patience and understanding while these improvement works are carried out.”
While the upgrades are underway, the Brisbane Valley Bulls rugby league fields at RJ Rashford Recreation Ground will be used as a temporary helipad.
Helicopter landings and take-offs may occur at the fields at short notice.
